The Foundation was privileged to have Mr. Sidharth Luthra, Senior Advocate, as Guest of Honour at its inauguration. In his special address, Mr. Luthra reflected on Justice Tripathi’s unwavering belief that the law must serve as a vehicle for social change. Recalling Justice Tripathi’s decision to return to Bihar after his education in Delhi, he spoke of a first-generation lawyer who never shied away from difficult briefs and whose commitment to the rule of law defined his remarkable career. Mr. Luthra highlighted Justice Tripathi’s contributions to landmark cases such as the Fodder Scam, the Disproportionate Assets case against the erstwhile Chief Minister of Bihar, and the Bihar Bifurcation case. He also remembered a judge who transitioned seamlessly from a thriving practice at the Bar to becoming a people’s judge on the Bench – authoring over 1100 judgments and always mindful of the hardships caused by pendency to ordinary litigants.
